We are committed to protecting the health of our planet and the humans who inhabit it. Our “Earth First” approach to business encompasses everything from “seed to sale” – our farms, our hemp, our packaging, and our company’s footprint.
We support local Oregonian and Coloradan farmers who are stewards of the land, proud of their harvest, and committed to organic farming, environmental health & sustainability. We are giving our farmers equity ownership stake in our company to ensure long-lasting, organic, and friendly relationships with people that we can count on year-after-year. We perform regularly scheduled testing on their crops throughout the season to ensure our hemp is pest & disease free, as well as federally compliant to less than. 0.3% THC in the US or less than 0.2% THC outside the US.
MOUNTAIN smokes utilizes only the highest pharmaceutical grade hemp CBD – certified organic – no pesticides, chemicals, or additives. We consistently produce boutique, flavorful, and wholesome hemp flower for our smokes. Our quality control goes well beyond soil and water. Our hemp genetics are all bred to be acclimated to their respective environments, zones and regions. This practice ensures our terpene profiles, natural resistance against pathogens and harmful insects to the crops. It’s not just about the hemp quality, but how we cure is just as important – we have a proprietary process that preserves the best flavor possible. You can truly taste the difference.
PACKS & CARTONS:
MOUNTAIN packs & cartons only use biodegradable and chemical free materials and soy-based ink.
REVOLUTIONARY BIODEGRADABLE FILTERS:
MOUNTAIN Smokes has pioneered a rapidly degrading cigarette filter using raw materials including flax, cotton, and manila hemp with no artificial compounds or chemical residues. The unique blend of materials is designed to allow for standard paper filter manufacturing run rates on existing paper filter machinery, inspiring a seamless transition for the cigarette industry.
Our filters are capable of achieving desirable resin retention and pressure drop values, providing a viable alternative to filters manufactured of fine cellulose acetate.
The average time for degradation of a filter is 3 days in compost or 2 minutes when dispersed in water at 150 rpm agitation. In comparison, it can take up to 15 years for common acetate filters to degrade.
Our packs are wrapped and sealed in cellophane. Cellophane is plant-based. The “cello” in cellophane stands for cellulose – the structural component of plants.
ONE CARTON / ONE TREE
For every carton you buy, we will plant a tree in the state of California. California has suffers greatly from wildfires. These fires have ravaged our otherwise lush population of trees. Trees are critical for the health of the environment and us as humans.
Trees clean the air we breathe.
Leaves and bark absorb harmful pollutants while releasing clean oxygen. Strong and healthy trees act as carbon sinks, offsetting carbon and reducing the effects of climate change.
Trees capture rainwater.
The intricate root systems of trees act to filter pollutants while slowing down water’s absorption into the soil. By doing so, trees help prevent landslide erosion and reduce flooding.
Trees create biodiversity.
Trees act as homes for thousands of life forms: birds, insects, fungi, mammals, plants, and moss.
